Herbal tinctures and bitters are some of my favorite remedies for daily use, and also to help support your system when you are feeling a bit under the weather (or for allergies!) and for digestive support. I love this form of herbal medicine as it is highly concentrated (it works fast), and is very easy to use. Perhaps you’ve taken a tincture or a syrup when you were sick - and with a well made tincture or syrup you will notice the effect right away or soon after! And the great news is that herbal tinctures are not challenging to make at home, and often what you create will be stronger, fresher and cheaper than what you can buy in a store.

In this workshop, I’ll talk about the basics of how to make an herbal tincture or bitters, and what to do if you don’t want to consume alcohol (we’ll also talk about vinegars and glycerine infusions). We’ll discuss how you can decide whether to make your tincture with fresh or dried herbs, and some really common herbs to begin working with to make powerful medicine for your home apothecary or medicine cabinet like elderberry, mullein, reishi, chickweed, dandelion, burdock and more.

We’ll even talk about other uses for tinctures beyond orally - like topically for acne.

I’ll lead us through how to make a tincture and a bitter LIVE in the session together, and you will get a grocery list in advance of the class if you choose to make it with us (note you can always watch and make it later too!).

It will be a lot of fun, and informative!
